ADMISSION IN NETHERLANDS
Instructions about the method to get admission in Dutch Universities

Courses and programs
Bachelor’s: Most bachelor’s programs last four years.
Master’s: Master’s programs last 1 or 2 years.
Tailor-made programs may be longer.
PhD: Admission to a PhD programs requires a good master’s degree, including research training. Applications are judged on an individual basis.

Period of Study
Graduated GirlsCourses generally begin each September, and last till the end of June the following year. A few universities start courses in the spring, which then last from February to December. Students are expected to spend 40 hours a week on their studies.
Admission requirementsThe most essential requirement for foreign students wishing to enter a Dutch university is that they are able to understand, speak, read and write English at a good level. They must pass either a standard test (equivalent to TOEFL 500-550 or IELTS 5.5-6.0), or a test arranged by the Dutch university. A secondary school diploma is required for entering a bachelor’s degree program. For a master’s degree program, an undergraduate diploma or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required. Some professionally oriented programs may have special requirements, such as related working experience.
